A look back at top performances from Week 8 of the high school football season from the Green Bay area.

Team of the week: Green Bay Southwest

The Trojans held Green Bay Notre Dame to a season-low point total in a 14-7 road victory. The Southwest defense limited the Tritons to 69 rushing yards and got an interception return for a touchdown by junior Josh Yasha.

Players of the week

Sam Gerend, Southern Door: The 6-foot-4 senior made 11 receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown in helping the Eagles win an overtime game against Sturgeon Bay to clinch a share of their third straight conference title.

Ryan Jacobsen, Sturgeon Bay: The junior recorded 15 tackles and an interception on defense, while adding a team-high 61 rushing yards and catching four passes for 30 yards in helping the Clippers almost pull the upset in an overtime loss to Southern Door.

Jared Jandt, Peshtigo: The 6-foot-1, 200-pound sophomore averaged 12.0 yards per carry in rushing for 275 yards and three touchdowns in a win against Algoma.

Jake Krueger and Isaac Woller, Oconto: Krueger completed 11-of-19 passes for 293 yards and five touchdowns, including three to Woller, who posted five receptions for 230 yards and four touchdowns overall in a win against Coleman.

Jamison Sassman, Seymour: The senior running back, pictured above, rushed for 257 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries to power the Thunder to a 30-20 victory at New London to keep its playoff hopes alive.

Offensive line of the week: Wrightstown

Senior Jonathan O’Connell, senior Sam Stenzel, junior Sam Karner, senior Danny Burns, senior Luke Haese, and tight ends Logan Cieslewicz, Mason Rogers and Evan Guns cleared the way for the Tigers to rush for 262 yards and average 5.3 yards per carry in a 24-6 victory against Luxemburg-Casco to clinch a share of the North Eastern Conference title.
