Standings in the Stands: Week 3

Following directions around here is key.

We were asked last week to make De Pere No. 1 in Standings in the Stands by senior Olivia Fabry.

As a state champion pole vaulter, Fabry is ultra talented at clearing the bar. But clearly De Pere didn’t follow directions last week to obtain that ranking.

The trophy we award at the end of the season is a participation trophy, which means your participation is necessary to win.

That means sending us photos/videos of your crew at games on Twitter (@AndrewPekarek), Snapchat (AndrewPekarek) or Facebook (PrepsAgenda) to enter.

We once again heard nothing but crickets from De Pere.

But don’t fret. There is still time to get back into the game and chase that No. 1 spot.

Follow the directions at the bottom to read how your school can earn bonus points to play catch up. If you think the deficit is too great, just remember that Wrightstown first got into the game at about this time last year and nearly won.

If you want to see your school make the cut next week, send AP photos and/or videos on Twitter (@AndrewPekarek),  Snapchat (AndrewPekarek) or Facebook (PrepsAgenda) of your crew showing its fandom at a game this week.

As always, student sections, bands, teachers, principals and parents are encouraged to apply.

5. Green Bay Southwest

We appreciate S³ for continuing to follow directions to submit its entry. Michael Vivian, the MVP of this group, sent a 5-second snap, which was a bit underwhelming. We hope last year’s champion can get back in the groove and follow the directions at the bottom to earn some bonus points and catch up. We still believe it can.

4. Algoma

Perry Field is a historic venue to take in a high school football or baseball game. The setting is even greater with the silky, smooth voice of Dean Blahnik coming over the loudspeakers. Whether it’s Coach Kline at Preble or Coach Blahnik at Algoma, there seems to be something about track and field coaches being excellent public-address announcers. Preps Agenda always endorses PA announcers.

3. Pulaski

The Red Seas was showing off its strength last week with some push-ups. Thanks to Maddy Karcz for sending us the video evidence. We’d like to advise the Red Sea to read all the way to the bottom and try to get some bonus points. We know you can do it. Between the Zac-Pack and Karcz’s Krazies, you can climb the season standings with those bonus points.

2. Luxemburg-Casco

While the ‘Burg just missed out on the top spot for the third week in a row, it did make big gains in the season standings by capturing 10 bonus points. Its vivid “AP” and “Pekarek Pals” signs warranted five bonus points for best signs (Was asked about it by TV reporters because it was in the background of its game shots) and the ‘Burg got five bonus points for getting players’ moms involved in a group cheer. Great job by Kathy Lindsley and Rhonda Coisman. What will Miceli Mania do in Week 4 to get to the top spot?

1. Ashwaubenon

The Pineapple People garnered the top spot for the third straight week. They just missed out on being the team to earn bonus points with some awesome signs and another great group cheer led by the superintendent, athletic director, principal and assistant principal (We honestly think they’ll have the entire teaching staff out there by the end of the year). The efforts of Addison Stromberg and Chayse Earney continue to carry this group, but a big assist goes to the individual that tossed us a Jaguars’ rally towel last week.
