Green Bay area sending 44 wrestlers to state

Wrestlers from across the Green Bay area punched their tickets on Saturday to the WIAA individual state wrestling tournament.

The list of 44 wrestlers was led by five seniors who became four-time state qualifiers.

Pulaski’s Cole Gille did so by securing his fourth sectional title with an 11-3 major decision over Kaukauna’s Mason Campshure in the 120-pound championship at the Division 1 Appleton North sectional.

Meanwhile, Luxemburg-Casco and Coleman each produced a pair of four-time state qualifiers.

Bryce Bosman and Nathan Ronsman became four-time state qualifiers in D2 for L-C, while Koltin Grzybowski and Jake Baldwin did so in D3 for Coleman.

There were six wrestlers from the Green Bay area who will be making their third trip to the Kohl Center in Madison for state next week, including Wrightstown’s Ben Durocher; Luxemburg-Casco’s Lucas Joniaux, Colton Worachek and Reece Worachek; and Coleman’s Caleb Gross and Bryce Karban.
