Day 2: State track and field photos and results

Four local athletes won titles on the second day of the WIAA state track and field championships in La Crosse.

De Pere senior Olivia Fabry repeated as the state champion in the Division 1 girls pole vault, which saw De Pere senior Grace Kowalkowski place third to record her fourth finish in the top three at state.

Meanwhile, Denmark senior Leah Kralovetz won the Division 2 girls 3,200-meter run to capture her second state title of the meet.

On the boys side, Peshtigo crowned a pair of champions in Division 2, as senior Max Rauch repeated as the pole vault champion and senior Mitchell VanVooren won the 110-meter hurdles.

The Bulldogs also got a state runner-up finish from their 1,600 relay. The Peshtigo boys finished third in the Division 2 team team standings with 34 points.

Five other relay teams from the Green Bay area placed on Saturday. The Sevastopol girls 3,200 relay (D3) and Bay Port boys 1,600 relay (D1) also finished as state runners-up. The Pirates had to do a rerun in the last race of the day after being interfered with in the initial race.

Overall, there were 21 state medalists from the Green Bay area on the second day of the WIAA state track and field meet.
