TEAM OF THE WEEK: Sevastopol

The Pioneers rallied to defeat Luck 38-30 to win the inaugural WIAA 8-player state championship Saturday. Nathan Stenzel rushed for a 4-yard touchdown with 2 minutes, 8 seconds remaining in the game to give the Pioneers their first lead of the contest and the decisive points to win the first state title in program history.

Sam Mommaerts

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Josh Blount and Sam Mommaerts, West De Pere: Blount rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 59 yards, while Mommaerts surpassed 100 rushing yards for the third straight week to lead the Phantoms to a 17-3 win over Notre Dame Academy in D3.

Isaiah Gash, Bay Port: The junior rushed for 155 yards and accounted for all three of the Pirates’ touchdowns in a loss to Kimberly in D1.

Dylan Hendricks, Pulaski: The senior rushed for a career-high 365 yards on an amazing 51 carries and scored all four of the Red Raiders’ touchdowns in a three-point loss at Marshfield in D2. Hendricks finishes his prep career with 6,359 rushing yards, becoming only the fourth player in state history to surpass 6,000 rushing yards.

Jack Kress, G.B. Notre Dame: The junior made a game-high 11 tackles in helping to hold West De Pere to a season-low point total.

Nathan Stenzel, Sevastopol: The senior rushed for a game-high 152 yards and a touchdown and threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns to help the Pioneers win the 8-player state title.

OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK: Pulaski

Dylan Hendricks leads the state in rushing yards with 2,833 this season. The senior wouldn’t have been able to accomplish that without the offensive line of senior Dustin Van Lannen, senior Liam Fahey, senior Chasten Fatla, junior Caleb Szymik, junior Bennett Sheedy and senior tight end Nathan Przybylski.
