TEAM OF THE WEEK: Sevastopol

The Pioneers advanced to the 8-player state championship game with a 50-28 victory over Wausau Newman. Sevastopol rushed for six touchdowns in the win, including three by Spencer Evenson and two by Max Krohn to earn the right to play undefeated Luck for the WIAA title on Saturday.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Evan Frisque and Alex Spitzer, West De Pere: The Phantoms limited Freedom to 70 yards of offense and a season-low point total in recording a 35-6 victory in D3. The senior middle linebackers combined for 10 tackles, including seven solo stops, 1½ tackles for loss and a sack.

Dylan Hendricks, Pulaski: The senior threw for 108 yards and a touchdown in addition to rushing for 308 yards and three touchdowns on 45 carries in the Red Raiders’ victory at River Falls in D2. Hendricks scored the deciding touchdown with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game and moved into fourth on the state’s all-time rushing list with 5,994 career rushing yards.

Alex Hewett

Alex Hewett, Kewaunee: The senior caught four passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns and recorded the deciding points in a 31-28 victory over Southern Door in D5 by kicking a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Brandon Limoni, G.B. Notre Dame: The senior rushed for 219 yards and five touchdowns and made four receptions for 41 yards in the Tritons’ 56-28 victory over Seymour in D3.

Dalton Szymanski, Bay Port: The senior recorded 10 tackles and made a fumble recovery in limiting Appleton North to its second-lowest point total of the season during a 31-21 victory in D1.

OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK: Wrightstown

The Tigers rushed for 378 yards and eight touchdowns with Ben Jaeger, Andrew Pelishek and Jeremy Van Zeeland each surpassing 100 yards in a D4 victory at Winneconne. Tackles Tony Schultz and Kyle Peters, guards Peyton Just and Hayden Meulemans, center Sam Karner, and tight ends Evan Guns and Andrew Lamers led the way up front.
