Pulaski finds explosive option in Egnarski

You need a stable of ball carriers to run the Single Wing offense successfully.

Although Pulaski returns two of its top three rushers from a year ago in junior Dylan Hendricks and senior Dustin Graf, the Red Raiders still need to find some fresh legs to fill the voids of Joe Franks and Michael Kane.

Brock Egnarski did a pretty solid job of picking up where the shifty Kane left off last season.

Egnarski accounted for 91 yards in Pulaski’s 21-20 overtime loss to Green Bay Southwest in a Fox River Classic Conference game last Thursday. He served as a perfect complement to Hendricks (178 rushing yards) and Graf (139)

The 5-foot-10 sophomore got his first carry in the second quarter. He promptly got five more over the next six plays in giving Hendricks and Graf a break from carrying the football.

Egnarski later took a pass from Graf 56 yards to the Southwest 4-yard line to set up a Hendricks’ touchdown two plays later to put Pulaski up 14-7 going into halftime.

“Brock has been a blessing where he can come in there and took three or four series and spell some of the guys like Dylan and Dustin,” said Pulaski coach Jerad Marsh, whose team plays at Sheboygan North Thursday. “We have a nice backfield, but we have to be able to get those guys off the field at times. He’s done an excellent job of stepping in and filling a role. He’s an explosive little feller.”
